Avisynth script order

Simple question, should be able to be answered fairly easy if someone knows.

Are lines in the AVS script handled in the order in which they appear in the script?

Example, if I had a Bicubic Resize on the line above a shapening filter would it resize it first and then apply the sharpening filter or does it even matter? Do certain filters have priority when they are applied reguardless of where they are in the script?
