There are quite a few bands that cover the same topics as Linkin Park, or have the same sound as Linkin Park, or both. The problems are:
1) Exposure. If you don't hear a band on the radio or have an elite group of musically exposed friends, you're not going to hear unpopular bands unless you try really really hard to find them...and the percentage of people that try really hard to do anything is pretty low as is...
2) Cost. You want to try a new band and you can't get it off Kazaa. Either you can't afford the CD, you stopped buying music with the invention of P2P, or you refuse to buy music you can't "preview" first. Result: that new band never reaches your ears.
3) Frequency. An unpopular band that isn't raking in money from concert tickets and CDs is less likely to produce new albums.
4) Quality. An unpopular/unfamiliar band is less likely to have access to good techies who can "help" their music. (Notice how some popular bands improve fourfold on their second album? Often it's because they acquired a team of sound professionals who clean up their shitty tracks.)

To be fair, I don't mind Nickelback. Sure they're not the most original band in the world, but to me they're just a nice hard rock sound.NerdStrudel wrote:

Although have you ever noticed that when hinder are around, nickelback are absent??

As for LP not being emo...I've just one word...crawling. And is that rapper guy still in the band???

Ha, I'm going to use Hinder on my next vid. I must agree, the dude sounds like he's trying to push out a huge turd while he's crying in a homicidal rage over a breakup. Ha, quite angsty. I'm going to cut out the 2 really annoying lines though...NerdStrudel wrote:FO shizzle.Dime_fan3 wrote:Am I the only one who thinks their new song 'What I've done' sounds like they've just stuck together all their previous songs and tried to pass it off as something new?
...could be worse, though. It could be Hinder.

And those are just the three most popular ones right now.. I'm sure there are a couple i'm missing, out of the fact that I just woke up and it's 4:30 in the afternoon
