well the point isn't to cut down on everyone's posts, just to keep the 1st page of amv announcements less cluttered.Krisqo wrote:I like it. Though I don't think it will cut down the number of announcements by other members because I don't know of many who release more than 3-5 videos in a year... Maybe pool for 6 months?
We knew it was coming.

Hey since we're bitching about people announcing videos we don't like, can we finally do something about all those god damned naruto videos? Maybe make a single thread for them that is permanently locked into position on the very last page of the announcement forum and any naruto video announcements automatically gets moved into it. That should give those videos all the attention they deserve.
Come to think about it, I'm getting kinda tired of Death Note, Bleach, and any drama as well. Can we make special rules to shove them in some ghetto as well?

i think a week is a good amount of time ive been tempted to post my videos (two of them in the same thread) for the last few days but with his crap being all over it ive been back and forth on the decision

Good idea in theory, but I don't think that will work with Kickass.downwithpants wrote:we could make a new rule for the amv announcements forum that if you are going to release multiple videos in a day/week/other specified period of time, to pool it in one thread. if you have input on that, i'm open to hearing it.
Why? He doesn't plan out his videos, each hour he thinks up an idea and makes it. He's never finished to go back and "group them together" or does he know how much he's going to make.
Unless you could just do it manually for him, since he'd never be able to do actually do this himself.

The week thing seems very reasonable to me, if your releasing two videos in a single week, anyone interested can check the original thread with no problem. Basically, for most here it'll just be a restraint against spammers. Or, hell, I don't see how this is any different from when you had people talking in the journals. You've got a single user spamming up the page so that those who would announce a video in their journal would get immediantly knocked off.
Of course, then he'll probably just continually spam that one thread, making sure it stays at the top of the page. I propose locking/merging all his current threads into one, and giving him one until he begins to act like a reasonable member of the community.

I honestly don't see the problem myself. I never read his threads because if his videos suck, why would i want to? I think a limit to how many you can post in a certain period of time is a reasonable rule though. Perhaps it could even be coded into the forum so that its technically impossible for a user to create more than a certain amount of new threads within a range of time.
Another solution that would perhaps be more useful, would be a block button. If you don't want to see the guys threads, it would keep them hidden from you.

I hope this will only apply to announcment threads. Because you should be able to make any other threads in other places of the forums if you want to. Like the OP exchange...Zarxrax wrote: Perhaps it could even be coded into the forum so that its technically impossible for a user to create more than a certain amount of new threads within a range of time.
