Apart from some odd kids' movie about pet squirrels (?) running away to live with the wild squirrels, before I even knew what anime was, I'd count some combination of:

- The occasional anime short they snuck onto Liquid Television on MTV (and no, not Aeon Flux)
- Sci-Fi Saturday Anime, I remember Project A-Ko (Vs. 2, I think), Demon City, and Gall Force Eternal Story particularly
- Vampire Hunter D

That's all within the timespan of 1994-96, late high school or so.

Oh man let me think...

When I was around 10, I saw Vampire Hunter D, Ninja Scroll, and the Record of Lodoss War OVA. I think those were the main ones. And then, the first whole series I watched would be Now and Then, Here and There. That was about 7 months ago. I've seen most of Kenshin, but not all. And I just watched all of Evangelion, Death and Rebirth, and EoE in a span of one month. That was one month and two weeks ago :D .

And I'd seen lots of Dragonball before I was 10.

My best guess is when I was 10 or 11. I watched Pokémon or DragonBall. But Pokémon was what got me hooked for life. :D

i been watching cartoons for as long as i can remember back when i didn't know what anime was, so i'm gonna say when i was about ten, i don't rember what age i find things out. i saw my first episode of dragonball z. the episode of vegeta ooarzu versus goku. okay can you say mind blow! i freaked when i saw that and knew i had to see more, and since then i been kinda working my own way through the anime world. nobody but me watches it around where i lived and there still very few people i know who i can talk about it with. i guess you could say i was raised on week anime from too much toonami but i try not to act like it.

I first watched anime at the age of five.
I had all the episodes of Starzinger (Starkeeters), and Silver Fang.

Still love Silver Fang!

Actually, does Samurai Pizza Cats count as anime? If so, that was my first. That or Hello Kitty. But these I never knew were anime for a long while. Pokémon and DB were the first that I understood what they were.
