Download Stop on any AMV

Post by hippies » Tue Jul 10, 2007 3:01 pm

I have been using this site for about a year, and I have never had a problem. But now I can't ever finish the download of any of the AMV's. I have tried multiple times to download sevral AMV's and I will get all the way to 4 or 5 seconds left and then the download stops. Its not that my browser freezes, in fact its fine, but it just stops with 5 seconds to go. I have tried all the basic fixes (restarting my computer, trying a diffrent browser, going and reloading the link) and none of them have helped. please help.

If I posted this in the wrong place, I am sorry.

I had the same problem in colleage when they had a network problem (with a switch if I rember right). After they fixed it, everything went fine.

I can´t give you a sollution, but you could try to use a free downloadmanager. With it you could stop and continue a download at any time.

Yes it is the wrong place, because I think that this belongs to the "Site Help" forum. I´ve downloaded an amv just 1 hour ago and everything went fine.
You can find me on YT under "Bauzi514". Subscribe to never miss my AMV releases. :amv:

Nope. The download manager doesn't work, it still stops at 98% with 4 or 5 seconds left. Does anyone know what is causing this? I can download fine from EVERYWHERE else, but not here. I am getting really pissed.

Does .org system counts in that you downloaded vid? I mean - can you give stars for vid you don't have?

Used to happen to me a lot... University server issues - no real solution that I could find except to switch ISPs to a cable connection. =/

Does this happen to you only on LOCAL links, or does it also happen on DIRECT and indirect ones?

Well,to me - it mostly happens when I'm trying to download old video. Not too old,but at least few months old.. Though,I don't have any problem with .mp4 >.> But I can't even start to download .avi or .mp(e)g vids ^^ My internet just stops responding then ^^ So I guess the problem lies in connection. Just as BasharOfTheAges said, all you need to do is to change your internet,to a cable connection. :|

I wish I could do that myself :x

It wasn't so much a suggestion as a shared experience.
