Ok, let me explain.
there is 1 video, 1 song, about 15 minutes long. You sign up and you are chosen at random to edit a certain 30 seconds - 1:30 minutes. I would start the video, i edit however much i want (1:30 max) within 24 hours. I then export the lagarith file and send it to whoever i choose to edit the next segment. The person i choose then has 24 hours to edit their track. (30 second min). Once they finish their track they choose someone who has signed up and send them their lagarith file, leaving in the full audio file. You can't send the video to someone who hasn't signed up and expect them to edit to it. Each time you edit a track you put your time in a PM and send it to the next person, like a chain letter. the end should look something like this
Addy - 00:00 - 01:30
Chaos Projects - 01:30 - 02:20
Toothpickvic - 02:20 - 03:45
and so on.
Any questions?

you say... person A has to send his lagarith file to person B and then person B sends his lagarith file to person C.
1.) is in person B 's Lagarith File the part of person A in as well? So that person B actually sends his own Track and person A 's track to person C?
2.) If it's like that, then Wouldn't this make the lagarith file bigger and bigger and in the end like almost impossible to send?
3.) If 1.) is wrong and person B only sends his own part and NOT person A 's part to person C, then why does it have to be the lagarith file?
that's all i got to ask for now, I think..

yeah thats an option 2, or just upload it to a site like livevideo or veoh and then give linksgodix wrote:For easier download times I'd suggest the people send the lossless copy of their work to you and then you make a compressed version of the project to date available for each editor. They don't need a lossless copy of what went on before, they just need to see it.

yes, that may be an easier idea, and i just send the audio out, each person tells where they ended and the next person starts there... but the only problem is that i want people to be able to see what happened before them. so the only other option is that they send me a lossless vid and i make an xvid encode every single track.... the easier way is that there is 1 track of audio. i edit to the first track, then i save the lagarith file and send to the next person, they import the lagarith file into their editing program and edit the track after mine. they export the whole video *leaving the end of the video black with the audio still inside of the file* sure it would be a big file to send around.. i may split it up into 3 or 4 segments. meaning to cut down on size when we reach the 3 minute mark i start a new lagarith file and just upload an xvid file so you can see the progress so far. im still trying to figure out all of the kinks but fast internet or a lot of patience would be required.godix wrote:For easier download times I'd suggest the people send the lossless copy of their work to you and then you make a compressed version of the project to date available for each editor. I'm not planning on joining but if you will actually send me the ONLY lossless copy of the project to date for me to fuck with the other peoples segments then I am so in this.AMV_4000 wrote:yes, that may be an easier idea, and i just send the audio out, each person tells where they ended and the next person starts there... but the only problem is that i want people to be able to see what happened before them. so the only other option is that they send me a lossless vid and i make an xvid encode every single track.... the easier way is that there is 1 track of audio. i edit to the first track, then i save the lagarith file and send to the next person, they import the lagarith file into their editing program and edit the track after mine. they export the whole video *leaving the end of the video black with the audio still inside of the file* sure it would be a big file to send around.. i may split it up into 3 or 4 segments. meaning to cut down on size when we reach the 3 minute mark i start a new lagarith file and just upload an xvid file so you can see the progress so far. im still trying to figure out all of the kinks but fast internet or a lot of patience would be required.godix wrote:For easier download times I'd suggest the people send the lossless copy of their work to you and then you make a compressed version of the project to date available for each editor.
