Downloading a video larger than 100 MB

Post by Tru_Blu » Wed Jul 04, 2007 4:11 am

I think I've followed the instructions correctly:

Upload Video -> Request upload permission -> Request permission to upload a large video -> Filling the inquisition -> Request Large Upload.

After these steps, I've managed to upload the video but when I wanted to confirm the upload, it's said that it can't be found because, I suppose, of its size.

 I can't understand this... so why did I have to fill the inquisition? May I have to wait for a response, although it's said that the video couldn't be found?

But when I took the step "Request Large Upload" the site gave me the information I need to upload the video (FTP host, username and password), so I've uploaded already...

is there any problem?

yes, you have to wait for the approval before you can upload a file thats 100+MB or else you will waste your time uploading a large file thats not going to show up...

an admin or a mod has to approve the upload if its over 100mb this can take a while, so either be patient and wait for them to get to it on their own or try contacting a person who can do approvals

You also need to have a legitimate reason for needing a 100+MB upload - like a project length of over 11 minutes or so.
Anime Boston Fan Creations Coordinator (2019-2023)
Anime Boston Fan Creations Staff (2016-2018)
Another Anime Convention AMV Contest Coordinator 2008-2016

 and more than 6 minutes? I just tried to combine both good quality and the duration of the video...

Before the approval, I need to click on "confirm video" and verify if it was already approved?

6 min i think is too short, you can get that down to 80mb and still good ql doing a second pass on xvid O.o (if you're using xvid that is)

you should keep that page it gives you to see if its been approved there

With 6 mins is really no need to get over 100MB. Did you compress your audio? That can save you 60MB.
