Kaeuta-hen part 1

Post by Vir » Fri Jun 29, 2007 4:57 pm

The Nirai-Kanai incident (May 2028).

The story takes place on one of the islands making up the Satsunan Islands. It revolves around a family feud concerning the control of some very special family assets, as well as the a fight to the death for your affections. This is a detective story, but it is not only that.

Concept openings are quite hard to judge

.. somehow you lost the Sharpness -- it seemed washed-out to me.

and I agree with "Autraya" on the twisting-flowers not working.

. . . U-sota!
the theme song seem's to work well 8-)

Have you seen the opening to When They Cry - Higurashi?

I did run it through a sharpening filter (unsharp mask), but I think I might have incurred sharpness problems when I ripped the source DVDs.

There are a few scenes, such as the graveyard, where part of the subject is intetionally out of focus in the source, but I agree that it doesn't look as good as it should. I could have used a pulsating noise effect to more closely mimic the Higurashi opening there and "hide" the unsharpness.

I might do this later and upload a new file version under the same database entry.

I watched it. I even get it. However, there's... something missing. The Higurashi opening had this intangible "creepiness factor" to it that got lost somewhere. Nice try, though.

Why did I get a cute bunny as a quick-comment? :?

I would have understood a kitten, but a bunny?

Thanks for your other feedback too. :)

P.S: This is what I'll take to heart and do properly next time: http://www.ishtori.net/index.php?id=20

New file

Shiro? Is that you?

I uploaded a new file with some compression glitches removed, a cranked-up sharpening filter, vignetting and a more disturbed cemetery.
