Happy, uplifting, etc. music
I've come to the conclusion that 90% of mainstream music is too emo for the project I want to do.
Blah blah blah girls blah blah blah cut wrists blah blah blah isuck.
I'm looking for happier music that is NOT country, dance, ddr, etc. Techno-ish is okay if it's not too...DDR...
I really have no example of what I'm looking for (because my playlist is mostly...alternative rock) so I hope that's enough to go on.

Not sure if you consider it "dance" though. I personally classify it as Pop.

Tough call, as I don't really know where to aim my scope at. Going off the Alt. Rock base, some semi-mainstream bands which might do the trick (although I'd have no idea if you're aware of them or not) would be Cherry Monroe, Flickerstick, PrimeSTH, maybe Garrison Starr...all of them had a short time in the spotlight some years ago, but never really blossomed in the pop-punk/nü-metal/alt.hardrock mainstream environment that developed after 2001 or 2002 (except for Cherry Monroe, seeing as they came out around 2004 or 2005 - with them and Garrison Starr, go for the older releases - both of them have rerecorded some material and I feel the older renditions are better). The Flying Tigers are another one in this category, too.
I'd hesitate to recommend All About Eve as they're usually rather depressive (what with having been described as Goth Rock and Shoegaze over the course of the past 20 years), but occasionally have songs that defy that - two recent ones being "Keepsakes" and "Let Me Go Home", from the two-disc hits collection they released a year ago or so. Infidel inc. is another one that I'd hesitate on since they aren't so much 'happy' as they are just fast-paced - but that's kind of to be expected, considering they fit pretty well under the Industrial label ("Freak Pornstar" is just too funny, though - and damn catchy) - if you remember the Izod commercial during this past Super Bowl, the song featured was their's.
