The effect I'm going for is a Shattering Glass type look... but any shattering at this point would work. There's a perfect moment in the song for it. It's like, "Okay that's enough! Either kick the door down or break through the Window but let's get it on!" With a big drum bang.

Vegas plugin question [shatter]
Anyone know where or how I could get a shattering effect/transition in Vegas? The one in Windows movie maker, although not exactly perfect, would still suffice but I have the rest of my video in Vegas and if I did even just that part in movie maker it would mess up my quality not to mention I would have only one codec option.

That had the exact effect I really, really want, but I couldn't get the transitions to work. All that comes up are black blank frames where the Transition is supposed to be. And I followed the readme instruction plus even rendered it but still nothing but black frames where the transition was supposed to be.
Any ideas to remedy this dellema?

i had a quick look at em all anyway and noticed when i layed down i think shatter var2 the transition just went to black - all i did was delete the track that went all black after inserting the shatter transition and placed it back in the timeline and it appeared again as the next video transition.

I'm clueless to Wax. I never heard of it before this thread. How do you use it and how does it work?
The transitions I was looking at was actually 3 of them including the one Purge mentioned, but my favorite of the bunch was Shatter A to B, which is found in the WAX 3 list of plugins.
I tried both just simply dragging the transition plugin between clips, AND extending and crossfading the 2 clips and THEN laying the plugin on top but it's always the same result. There is just black for as long as the transition is supposed to last and then once it's time line is done, it cuts to the next scene. So there's a scene, then blackness, then the next scene.
Also, the Vegas version I'm using is 5.0 if that makes any difference.
I'm determined to get this type of transition one way or another with your guys' help.

Download Wax from here. Then open the program once you've installed it. From there...you're on your own, I don't really use the program. There are some tutorials and such around the web, and I think the download comes with some as well.
