Idea/Suggestion: DA-like 'watchlist', new-video alert

...... As I was browsing around the wonder that is DeviantArt today, I felt a sudden lightbulb moment going on upstairs. I'm one of those lurkers that tends to go on downloading-sprees once every few months when I re-discover AMVs and how much I love them. When that happens, I always wonder why in the world I haven't been checking for new videos all the time, but..... I think that's just it. Too many things to do, to many thoughts in my head...... I just get distracted, and forget about it.
Anyway, to the point of the post. Those of you familiar with the DeviantArt Watch concept may already see where this is heading, so please forgive me while I take some time to explain to those poor, deprived souls that have no idea what DA is all about. ^__^

..... Anyway. The idea is this- that members can choose to 'watch' certain artists; or, in other words, can choose to be notified when those artists upload new videos to the site. That way, you don't have to individually search out each artist you love to see if they've got a new video up yet- it'll be right there in front of you. For those forgetful/busy/distracted people such as myself, it would be particularly convenient if said notifications were to be delivered via e-mail, something most of us check regularly.

..... Anyway, just an idea as to how we might keep those wandering AMV-lovers up-to-date with all that's going on with the site, and keep them loving the AMVs they already know they adore. ^__^
