Well, the bad news is that I'm 0 for 4 as far as Otakon goes (Otakon is the hardest contest to get into in my experience), but..... the great news is that I see triumphant returns of some editors that I like: Cyanna, DW, Brad Demoss, and Studio Hybrid!
Otakon's one of those contests where even if you enter and don't make the cut, it's still got a pretty good line-up. Now all we need to know is if the AMV contest will get a fair shake in presentation this year. Guess I gotta stay tuned.
Good luck!

Yeah, it certainly sucks to put in a lot of time for a video and find out it wasn't good enough for the contest.Brakus wrote:Well, the bad news is that I'm 0 for 4 as far as Otakon goes (Otakon is the hardest contest to get into in my experience), but..... the great news is that I see triumphant returns of some editors that I like: Cyanna, DW, Brad Demoss, and Studio Hybrid!

Kinda wish there was some justification for said scores, but I suppose thats why a-m-v.org is here for, right? Oh well.
Grats to the finalists and I hope to see some familiar faces at Otakon this year!

This will end up like dota where you get killed at full health in less than 2 seconds.dwchang wrote:...yes somehow I was able to pull myself from my Wii and Guild Wars long enough to put something together >_>. (Man all this pressure...man I hope my video doesn't suck >_>)
I actually wanted to tell you that I enjoyed your Kiki video from last year's Otakon. Being a Kiki fan (she gets like no attention compared to the other Ghibli works), I thought it was a very good character profile. I look forward to whatever it is you have this year!

Yes, I certainly have to say, I'm nervous being next to so many well-known creators. This is my first time making it into the Otakon contest (after four tries if I'm counting correctly) although in prior years, I've sent my best work to Katsucon.
dragonsong12 - don't say it was a waste! You still have an AMV at the end of it, and that's something to be proud of.

Always remember "well-known" does not equate to a good videoKatrina wrote:Yes, I certainly have to say, I'm nervous being next to so many well-known creators. Frankly just seeing your video in arguably the largest showing in the East Coast makes it all worthwhile. Enjoy it
