The only problem I see with the VCA qualifying is that there are a fair number of bizzare awards and the MAsters don't specify what kind of award you had to win so that opens up a lot of videos suddenly. Although I agree that the VCAs are more respectible and certainly verifiable there is a problem that it would be odd to put hte exception in there for it since other online contests would then want to be counted.

Essentially, the latter is the case. VCAs are winners in an "online competition" and thus don't qualify for Master's admittance. I'll hear appeals to this, but it's not likely to be an issue, as VCA winners are typically popular from appearnaces at other conventions, where they've had a chance to win con awards.

Since I'm out of luck with the VCA thing, do multiple AWA guest awards count? >_>

I probably won't have a video but, in the off chance I do, I'm still kind of curious as they are technically "some form of formal recognition at a previous Music Video contest", at AWA no less.

Thats a good point. Didn't think about guest awards. In a sense however, this could be looked at as an even more informal award than a VCA award, considering that a lot of those are just random joke awards given by friends to other friends. Not to say that I think they should be ineligible, but just that it seems a bit bizarre to have that be an exception.

Guest awards fall under the "honorable mention" category, so I'm afraid those don't qualify either. Again, I'll listen to petitions (drmcwagner@gmail.com), but the mechanism kinda falls apart if we include guest awards.
