RPGs: n. "a genre of game in which players assume the personae of characters in a story, the outcome of events in said story being determined by a player called the referee or gamemaster [computer program]; RPGs are often played according to complex and voluminous sets of published rules, charts, and other sundry materials; examples include Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, Champions, GURPS, and the World of Darkness games."

Role Playing Games:
The games that are in the RPG section fall under the broadest definition of Role Playing Games. While cruzin the web it is evident that some people have a more restrictive definition of RPGs based on the traditional non-computer games like Dungeons and Dragons. Action RPGs like Zelda are not considered to be RPGs by some, because the action RPGs don't separate the the battle scenes from the rest of the game. While we respects hardcore gamers' opinions, our policy tries to be as inclusive as possible.
All games that people look for under the RPG genre will be listed here. RPG include all games where the player is playing a role in a story. Most RPGs involve non-linear story lines where the player's choices effect the outcome of the plot in some way. Diablo, Zelda and Black & White are examples of some RPGs.
Our utilitarian approach also means that many games will be listed on multiple genre pages. As more and more games try to break the mold and be more creative, the lines between genres will become more blurred.
