Vegas 7.0 Problem

Post by Syek » Sat May 26, 2007 9:24 pm

(I hope this wasn't asked before ^^;)

Okay, so I'm new to Sony Vegas, but I know the guides and other topics here have helped me out tremendously =/ although, I just skim. Anyway, I have a little problem, and I was hoping I could get some help on it ^^;

Whenever I apply an effect to a clip, there seems to be this evil little square box that just sticks somewhere in the clip's preview, and doesn't show the effect being used in that square o.<; It's a new problem, and it didn't do this before. I don't know if I touched something or what, but now it looks like this:

The little square only shows up in the preview. When I render the clip, the effect spans the whole thing. Any ideas? xD;;;

And while I'm at it, is there a way to lock a track so you can't touch/edit it at all? ><; I keep accidentally splitting my audio.

I don't know about the square thing...try taking a screenshot of the entire screen, not just the preview window.

As for locking a track, I don't know - but you know that if you select the video track you want to split, only that track will be affected, right? And if you accidentally split your audio track, you can just press Ctrl-Z to undo it.

Click to avoid side scrolling =x

Yeah, but sometimes I forget and snip like everything xD; it's not a problem now since it's just a single audio track that I can easily replace, but I think it might be a problem if I wanted to do something more complex later on =S I should probably just pay more attention though ^^; xD;

For the preview window box, click the icon that looks like a half-black, half-white circle. It's on the preview window's tool bar next to the label, "Preview/Full" (or similar). OR...click the arrow-question mark at the right end of the main toolbar (top of screen), then click the half-black, half-white circle for more information.

To lock a clip (audio or video), right-click the clip and select Switches.

Tip: always lock the audio clip after you have it set up the way you want it. Otherwise, if you accidentally bump it, your clip timing will be messed up.

that has to do with how their entire windows is set up... you have to go to windows properties and change the set up there..

Yeah, what JaddziaDax said. I'm using Azure for my Windows style. If you want it, you can download it from here.
