I'm starting to wonder why the copyright holders don't bother letting people do these under a CC liscence.

Because they don't have a CC license. They should, but that'll be the day

alot of amvs are getting hit in the crossfire of the uploaded fansubs

I can understand why seeing as a bunch of them use subs.

That and they're not really checking to see what they're taking down. I think they're just taking down everything that has the particular anime in the key words or something. I heard they had done the same thing with InuYasha not too long ago.

yup inuyasha and deathnote are on the title list right now... i donno about other titles.... but i know those for sure

deathnote was licenced recently too, so of course they might end up losing money to the fansubs being on there

Its not like that a uploaded the whole episode of the anime and its fan made.
also its already like a promotion type, I guess they don't want it to be promoted by the fans >_<

Yeah, you probably shouldn't even talk about anime to anyone either, just to be safe.
