Continue the work on an AMV

Post by Blue Mandrake » Mon May 21, 2007 2:08 pm

At the moment i've started to work on 3 AMVs, none sequence of them is longer than one minute, and actually i don't feel like to finish them. I don't know, maybe I think they're not good enough.

So what makes you continuing to work on an AMV?

So I don't feel the urge to make these topics.

Mostly deadlines, but also my desire to do things right is just high enough to get to the finished stage.

usually i get to the point to where i feel its completely and utterly stupid to not continue (considering how much work i put into it)

i got to that point on my last video: i actually wanted to scrap it, then i thought that it would be a waste... so i too more time gathering footage and and got in gear and finished...

deadlines do help...

either set them for yourself or have convention contest directors set them for you O:

Beta testers and general AMVing buddies. While I probably would do AMVing anyway, I think half the encouragement for me is "social AMVing", so to speak. It really helps if you have a good circle of AMVing friends - and not neccesarily even a wide one. Most of my AMVs I mostly bounce off just two people, and that really helps a lot.

Like most projects in real life, having friends, coworkers, or bosses who check up on your progress every now and then usually makes it necessary or worthwhile to make some kind of progress.

The sudden realization that I could do two minutes of totally black video and call it done and the result would STILL be better than most of the videos released here. So I figure my video sucks, oh well.

In the past it were deadlines: I gave myself deadlines or the were "real" for anything.

Today I see the effort in my amvs and it would be very sad to not finish them.
Motivation give me buddies and comments (all sort of comments; I like to see how people react on my amv),
You can find me on YT under "Bauzi514". Subscribe to never miss my AMV releases. :amv:

I actually like making them :O
Although I must admit the first time I watch a rough draft from start to finish is usually depressing enough to stop me for a day.
