Watermark encoding problem . . .

Ok, so I took some video with my camera (avi). Unfortunately, it plays with my PICMJPEG codec which is just the free version, so it gets watermarked all over the place. Is there anyway I can change which codec it plays with or something else so I can convert it to get rid of the hideous watermarks? (I really don't know much about this >_> )

I'm a big fan of this codec =) You could run the video through virtualdub(/mod) with an avisynth script that says AddBorders(0,30,0,30)... so the watermarks still get placed on top---> but they only appear on the borders.

What I do is load my source into vdub, and re-save/re-compress it as the MJPEG mentioned. Throw that into magix, and it will be really fast... and the filesizes are pretty reasonable too depending on the quality you set. As shown above, the codec imprints stuff/watermarks at the top and bottom of the frame [this is the ONLY limitation of the trail]... but I want widescreen, so I don't care... and I've already added borders because I'm not going to use that part anyways-->in fact, if you really wanted to rip off pegasusimaging... just add borders to the whole thing, and the watermarks will only appear on those borders. [like shown above]

Afterwards, just run the footage through an avisynth script in vdub and add Crop(0,30,0,-30).

*An important thing to note is that the watermarks aren't ACTUALLY imprinted onto the footage like the warning says... so if you have a PICvideo-MJPEG.avi, and run it through a DirectshowSource() avisynth script in vdub, the watermarks don't show up... so depending on your needs... I'm sure there's a way to take advantage of this.

...Not that I use these techniques >.> but for the trouble, buying the codec could also be an option <.<
