Some of the best footage is in the openings and endings >_> stylistically they may differ from the animation in the show, so that might be taken into consideration, but that all depends on what you are doing in your vid. Problem is, there are some ops that just seem to get used too much....Azudaioh for example...and soon to be Lucky Star :) And yea, no credits :/

 Pretty cool. This video tests the point double because that SONG was so overplayed when it came out on radio. Time has passed and I no longer hold a grudge against all things U2 so I was actually able to enjoy it.

So it's fair game as long as it's clean. =P
...but for all humanity's sake no more haruhi dances?

Thats what I got from your responses. I'm also guessing the people quoting/posting the link to that video feel the same way? Hard to tell, a link to a video isn't really an opinion.

They're footage, same as everything else. So long as you have a clean sourcec to work with using them is no different from using random scene X that is in episode Y. Furthermore, the fact is that the openings and endings have nicer animation than the other segments so sometimes it's preferable to a poorly animated scene that would also have fit.

Wasn't this discussed before?

Anyway, I don't see anything wrong with it. You can get a lot of cool stuff from intos and nowhere else. As long as you have creditless stuff, I would say go for it.

Just like with every other piece of footage - if editor can squeeze greatness out of it then it's kewl. Though I must agree that Haruhi op/ed is getting srsly overused.

I think intros for the most part should be avoided ... outros are ok, but i think they shouldn't take up more then a few seconds. Short and sweet is the key. Maybe : /

Read first, then post. This discussion is about the openings and endings you see at the beginning and ending of an anime episode, not editor-made bumpers that contain video information or credits.
