sony vegas 7.0 and avi

I need some help with avi on vegas are there some plugin or some

Vegas is fine with AVI, since AVI is only a container. It's the codec inside that Vegas doesn't like. Did you ever follow some discussion here? It was told like a million times:
Don't edit with DivX/XviD!
You should also read the guides.

sorry i am kinda new to the forums but thanks for the info.And i think i was using
divx and xivd so that is mostly likely the problem thanks
