Cannot Open file - Vegas 7.0

Post by _Silvx_ » Sat May 12, 2007 5:04 pm

/wave I've been a lurker on the forums in-and-out for awhile decided to finally have the guts to make an account and such. Anywho I was thinking about making an NE:G amv after I finished my current one, Decided to take a break and mess around a bit today and I tried to open some of my Evangelion eps. and Vegas would not open them.

I am assuming it's possibly because they are .mkv files and Vegas might not like those, and yes the Episodes do play fine in Media Players such as VLC so I know the file itself works. The files opened fine in V.DubMod but I usually trim my episodes on the trimmer in Vegas, and work from that. Basically all of the editing and trimming done in Vegas. So working with V.dub for the clips etc would be kinda odd and new, plus i'd have no idea what to do xD.

So my question is, Is there anyway to possibly get Vegas to accept the files and open? Such as maybe converting the file to another type? (another No idea how to do) or would I have to adapt to a new way of making my AMVs and trim my episodesin V.Dub and move them to vegas etc. any info. appreciated ^^

use those to mark the beginning and the end of the "clips" you want so you can save room

Oh so it's that simple? Well thanks ^^ Are are any other programs that are useful for amvs aside from Adobe Premiere?

if you want to save file space also remove the audio, it helps

Vegas has always worked well with lagarith or huffy encoded avis and im sure that premeire is the same... i usually go "clip harvesting" when i go to edit... and make the more presice cuts in the trimmer in the program itself

theres a whole list here of different editing programs you can look into...
