I'm hoping to make A-kon this year. Had to miss it the last two years due to work....:( And I only lived...like...600 miles away. Short drive in Texas. :)

I'm debating whether to go or not. Artist's Alley tends to do poorly, and A-kon is high on the Creep Factor scale, but maybe I'll crash with some friends or something.

It bothers me that the AMV contest page still says that we should have our entries in by May 1, 2003. With only 3 months left until the con, shouldn't they have updated that by now?

Your talking about an AMV contest that screwed over HypeOdermic Studios (Wonka and Beowulf) two years in a row...and I don't mean that they didn't get shown...Wonka's videos had audio problems two years in a row :( .

Not only that, but last year...they only wanted VHS tapes which made the videos look like ass...and if that wasn't enough, they stuck all of the 40 amvs onto a single VHS tape in EP mode (6hours mode) which made everything look even more like ass.

This is coming from someone who won at Akon14 as well. I love those guys to death but I think they have the AMV contest at a very very low priority :(

I wish it could be better

The amv showcase went better than the contest.

Nice seeing MJ's service on the smile on the big screen without the problems of the contest. :P
