Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (highschool romantic-ish comedy)
Death Note (hard to categorize...It's an intellectuall murder mystery of sorts)
Code Geass (not liscenced...yet. Intellectual "take over the world" mecha)
Ah! My Goddess (TV) [romatic comedy]
Full Metal Panic! (mecha, highschool romantic comedy)
Full metal panic: fumoffu (comedy)
Full Metal Panic: The second raid (mecha)
Trigun (it's a classic, kinda like a western...kinda)
Kanon 2006 (not liscensed afaik...not sure what to call it)
Air (kinda like kanon 2006, animated by the same people. The animation is top notch)
Gungrave (I like describing this one as "shoot 'em up zombie mafia")
Last Exile (steampunk, aviation)
s-CRY-ed (action, a little like dbz in some respects)

and that's all I have for the time

I have to suggest Kino's Journey because I've been raving about it lately and it is unbelievably astounding.

Basilisk. You'll like the relationships with everyone. Two tribes fight each other to the death in the course of 10 days. Very close to Romeo and Juliet, but a lot less boring and more exciting with better characters. :)

Easiest way to categorize this is suspense.

Go watch Monster. One of the finest stories told in any form. It's 74 episodes long, and not a single filler, each episode containing yet another part of a compelling tell, and with sharp, realistic animation, you can't go wrong.
