Which do you think is funnier Excel Saga or Ranma 1/2?

My anime club is split down the middle on saying which one is funnier. I think personally Ranma is beyond funny and is very twisted in some ways. What do you think?

Well iv never seen Exel Saga before...but i hav to agree wid you..Ranma iz hella funny

Excel Saga. Although Ranma is entertaining.

Ranma was done by Rumiko Takahashi, who also did Urusei Yatsura, which had...LUM!. Excel Saga was done by someone else.

That make your choice easier?

Excel Saga all the way. Excel Saga has a different kind of comedy. Ranma 1/2 is more perverted comedy (not saying thats a bad thing), where as Excel uses various types of Comedies.

I'd vote Ranma. There were a lot of gags and parodies of other anime and even western shows on Excel Saga, but I didn't think the characters were very interesting on their own. They were only funny to me when something was going on around them..sight gags mostly.

Ranma had memorable characters and the humor lied in their personalities and relating to each other. They were characters you could care about.

menchi is so cute, even the opening and ending scene's are funny...

Well See Urusei Yatsura is totally insane so Excel Saga is just so so in comparison. I would have to say that ranma is a little funnier than excel saga. Just because you get to know the characters alot more and the part in ep 17? where Ranma's insulting akane: You're face makes me sick, your built like a brick etc that's just classic.

Ranma insults Akane alot though...

ep 17 in which...season1,2....I have the digital dojo and anything goes martial arts box sets...season 1 has 18eps and season 2 has 22.
s1, #17 is "I love you, Ranma! Please don't say goodbye"
s2, #17 is "kuno's house of gadgets!guests check in, but they don't check out"

My fave is where Akane loses her memory...Ah actually there are too many good parts...
