I dunno. So far seen the first 19 and frankly find the show to be rather disappointing.
Much like with the first SEED, they've had potential to do some good things as an AU. But, since it was dealt to a director whose only other experience to this point has been commercial ventures, the show winds up turning into a giant commercial (then again, this is the same guy that had Dearka turn good guy because Buster Gundam's kit sales were low.)
That said, D's biggest weak point so far stands with its characters. Shinn is easily one of the most underdeveloped protagonists Gundam has EVER seen. In 20 episodes we've mainly learned his family's dead, he blames Orb for it, he has an almost creepy obsession with his sister, and overall, one finds it hard to believe that this whiny angry kid would not only a) be an enlisted pilot, but b) Trusted with a Gundam prototype (Me, I'd keep a weapon like that as far away from a short-fused kid as possible.)
But even Shinn's been lucky compared to most of the the rest of the new cast. So far the majority of the new characters are only there to stand around and look pretty (or, in the case of the females, throw themselves at Athrun. Gunning to market a dating sim, Fukuda?)
Hell, one gets the feeling even the writers grew bored with this new group, since after a few episodes they then decided to shift the focus over to the cast from the first series.
That said, I don't have terribly high hopes for the rest of this series (especially after seeing the art for the DESTINY, Destroy, and Nu Freedom Gundams.)
