Anime Music Downloads?

Post by Daedalus Jubei » Sat Sep 14, 2002 4:18 pm

Where is the best place to download music from anime soundtracks: Kazaa or an http address? Where is the best place to purchase anime soundtracks? Specifically, I am trying to find the theme from My Dear Marie used during its trailer. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

We don't really allow posts like this here because while we do offer AMVs which are quazi-copyrighted, you can't just go out and purchase on at the store. A anime OST however you can most likely find off of a online merchant or a local shop :|

That's the best way to do it. Buy it! ^_^

My Apologies

Post by Daedalus Jubei » Sun Sep 15, 2002 2:06 pm

I apologize if I violated the policies of this website. I also added to my inquiry the possibility to suggest reputable merchants. I use many AMV's, in conjunction with online reviews, to decide which new anime titles I want to purchase. If it wasn't for the artistic expression of these members I wouldn't have become interested in titles such as Noir, Big O, and Read or Die. Please keep in mind that there is no such thing as quasi-coyrighted material. It either is or it isn't. While AMV's do have a possible defense under the fair use practices of federal copyright laws, they primarily flourish because anime studios recognize them as beneficial to business by maintaining the interests of their fan base. But just like in feature films, permission and royalties must be negotiated before a song is used in the picture. I do not want to cheat the anime studios from their much desrved profits, but unlike most American music there is little opportunity to "try before you buy." I use file sharing as a means to expose myself to the product before I make a decision whether to buy it. Call me anal-retentive but I prefer the quality of professionally produced DVD's and CD's over anything that I could possibly burn myself.

Again, I would just like to apologize if I offended the principals of the membership.
