I think it would be cool if they made an anime about world war II, or metal gear solid, or resident evil, or full metal jacket.

what do you people think?

I think at least for Metal Gear Solid an anime would be useless because the whole game is a film.

metal gear
metal gear 2: solid snake
metal gear solid
metal gear solid 2: sons of liberty
metal gear solid for gameboy (don't remember exact title)
metal gear solid 3: snake eater

I highly doubt they would make a World War II anime. They weren't really on the winning side of the war. Even if they did make one it would be from Japan's point of view most likely. And I highly doubt they would show other countries who participated in the war in their best light. Though we pretty much do the same things in our movies so it can be expected.

Leiji Matsumoto's The Cockpit is a trio of stories about WWII. The first focuses on a German fighter pilot, the second on a kamikaze pilot, and the third is about two Japanese soldiers brought together over a motorcycle and a mission.
You have to realize that the Japanese are going to make something from their point of view. Do you think the movie Pearl Harbor would take the Japanese point of view?

Dang, Demented beat me to it! That was EXACTLY what I was gonna post!

During WWII, Japan lost a lot of its theaters. Got blown up. So, they turned to other forms of entertainment - namely manga. Manga gave birth to anime. I think that WWII has done enough for anime; that's why I don't think there really needs to be any more WWII anime. I think it'd be taboo. Maybe a weird thought, but that's how I feel.
