Gasaraki

Post by angelx03 » Sat May 08, 2004 1:11 pm

After seeing the first four episodes, Sunrise has once again created a mecha series that's practically original and almost realistic. What makes it realistic is the fact it takes place in a not too distant future where there's a war in the Middle East (hmmmm  ), and the tactical armors make it look like that it's possible to build them. I guess I could thank DJ Izumi since her Tactical Armor Down video influenced me for renting this.

I've heard of it a few times, but I don't know much about it. Anyone care to tell me about it?

There's no real way to sum up the series. It's REALLY freaking complex, especially towards the second half when they start going into all the politics and stuff. More or less, it's a cross between politcal thriller and mech action. And it's very realistic, as in, what would happen if we actually had mechs a few years from now.

Oh yeah, and it also has to do with Kabuki and Noh theatre.

Was that a fairly accurate summary, without giving anything away?

I liked it. Pretty nice series overall. The only thing that grated a little was that for the most part the main character spoke about as much as Chrono.

I liked it, sucked me in and confused me all the same. Mostly confused cause of all the power struggles going on with the world economy and such. The ending I was a bit put off by, kinda expecting more.

It's good, but I'm gonna have to rewatch it. I was however expecting more with the "thing" they found from the past.

It may be too slow at first for some people. But if you stick with it, damn it's good *looks up at wall scroll of Gasaraki* .... Yeah. Bad@ss.

Very Good.
