Nope.

I'm sick of typing this for the 9 millionth time.

And it's only argued again and again because someone continually posts about it. I still suggest they make a sticky of all the pertinent posts or something.

Like I keep saying... you want to talk EVA, e-mail me.

I've written here many times on this subject (and will again, I'm sure)

No one asked you "old timers" to post about how this has been done a million times. As you can see, Jon is a new member and this thread is for people who are also newer members that havent been in and out of this same thread nine million times.

That being said, I think I have to agree. Evangelion is an OLD topic, it might be new to those of us who have just seen the show, but in reality people should have stopped talking about it years ago.

I already analyzed parts of it in another thread, and I really feel that I said enough. As far as this thread goes, I will only say that I consider the show to be among the elite animes (top 30 anime etc), and that it has a lot of things which can be futilely argued. Many questions made by the show are so open ended that nearly any answer could work, for example a claim that first impact was really a bathroom accident at Taco Bell.

I can't agree with you on that.

While some things in EVA are up for interpretation (as they are meant to be) other things are not.

First Impact is never explained in the show... and there have been some good arguments for what First Impact was... but I don't believe that ANYTHING goes, just because some things are vague...

"best break-up show I ever saw..."

Man breaks up with Society.
Society breaks up with man.
Humanity breaks into each other.
Social relationships break away.
Audence breaks-up with there own preceptions.

Oh, yeah and Ano broke up with his girlfriend when filming.
That's 1st impact.

Agreed. Things can be open to interpretation, the important stuff (and most of it) is pretty concrete with "evidence" in the show and so on. I dislike how people automatically assume that since they don't understand it, it's either vague or open-ended. That's certainly not the case in terms of meaning and basic story of things that happened.

Maybe I'll get unlazy and post an actual answer to the original question, I just felt like replying to this since I agreed and see it too often.

Nah, just copy/paste one of your three page posts from an older thread DW, save your hands the typing strain.
