Gundam Wing Pointless or Bloody War!
Just curious who thinks gundam wing is a pointless plot with really cool and stupid characters or a bloody as hell mech war one after another?
Life is what you make it.

Good Gundam series that can be found in the US:Propyro wrote:i wouldn't know ... once my "to watch" lsit shrinks a bit i plan on looking into a good gundam series.

Mobile Suit Gundam - The series that started the franchise...definitely worth a look, whether you choose to go with the series form or the movie trilogy.
P.S. Don't let the dated animation throw you, the story more than makes up for it.
Gundam 0080: War In The Pocket - IMO, best of the OVAs. Side-story that doesn't call for much background info, but nevertheless, for 6 episodes, it reaches you *got choked up at the ending...this does NOT happen often*
Gundam: 08th MS Team - Another side story OVA...while it has it's share of anachronisms, it's still a decent show and worth giving a crack.
also, when it comes out next year, Zeta Gundam will be worth watching...
Just some suggestions...

just WHAT is so wrong abt gundam wing? it talks abt politics, and how human nature plays a role. if you REALLY think abt it, there's no real 'bad guy' in the anime...everyone has a viewpoint, and they are all backed up strongly.

I thought it was a pretty good anime. Not at all realistic, but good none the less. It definately had a well thought out storyline that was not at all shallow. Basically, war will never end until everyone has been affected by it in such away that everyone wishes for an end to it.
I thought some of the characters were great. Relina, at worst, was annoying, but an essential character, and very well portraid. Most people cry because she wines about peace all the time while people around her are slaughtering each other, but just look at what many actors/actresses did during the Iraq war. So her role was true to life. The structure reminds me of Russian society during the time of the Tzars. If you've ever read Tolstoy's War and Peace, you may know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, it was a well thought out anime, memorable characters, action, some drama... just about everything but comedy and hentai.
Maybe that's what you were looking for though.

Back when I was watching it, I was new to Gundam and relatively new to anime. I enjoyed it, even knowing that there is better anime out there.
I'm still new to Gundam. Nice as it is, Gundam's premise in general hasn't attracted my attention.
However, Gundam Wing I found most enjoyable. And I didn't have to pay to see it, which is a bonus.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

yr avatar is funny! also, if Gundam Wing isn't an anime, and the pilots aren't so young...they would be classified as terrorists. im willing to bet dollars to donuts that if GW was not a cartoon, the show would be banned.Otohiko wrote:Back when I was watching it, I was new to Gundam and relatively new to anime.
