Honestly, I don't know of anyone who's into the anime anymore. However, I have several friends who're into the the Gameboy games and quite a few who play the card game.

Go figure.

Hey,

I wouldn't say I'm into it, but I still watch it sometimes on TV.

I was a pokemon fan when it was still underground
When it started getting all popular I realised how kiddy most of it was and I got out of it. I still enjoy the games though, am playing through ruby right now.

I started out a average poke freak then after gold and silver came out i realized they would just milk the damb show for all it's worth. So now i dont like pokemon anyomre. Although i admit the tv shows not to... bad.

The show: Started out great but then quickly seemed like every episode was just filler nonsense to show off more kinds of Pokemon.

The games: Red & Blue I loved until other versions came out, Yellow kicked ass, Gold/Silver/Crystal seemed a little too much for me, and I don't know much about Ruby & Sapphire other than my roommate is totally addicted to them.

The manga: The four-part series (Pikachu Shocks Back, Electric Pikachu Boogaloo, etc) is GREAT. It has hilarious facial expressions, jokes and isn't censored and such like the show is. As for the "Red & Blue" series I can't say. Haven't read them.

I've grown out of it somewhat, but can't say that I'm out of it completely. The concepts of collecting cute and/or cool creatures, fighting evil, and becoming the master of something is quite addicting.

I enjoyed Pokemon for many factors -

1. A good progression of the main character
2. A pretty solid storyline, based on getting better in a "sport"
3. Pretty good animation

My only real beefs with the show -

1. Team Rocket (the three main character rockets) just got annoying. No matter how stupid people are, they should have gotten the point that nothing works.
2. No real major villians. This really pissed me off about the story. There really isn't a legit trainer who is truly evil.
3. After the first season, the stories became repetative.
4. They never went in too deep about the charaters personal lives. For example they really didn't explore the possibilites of love stories.

As far as the movies go, the first one was the only good one. Its actually one of my favorite anime movies.

I was also into the Pokemon card game for awhile and gradually became one of the best in my area. Im sure some of you are looking down on me at this point, but the real reason I loved the game is because I love strategy games and it was the best around and in my opinion still is.

Now a days I dont really watch it anymore, but I consider it a pretty good anime, more so than DBZ. I think some people are just embarresed that they like it sometimes. Its one of the series that older people can look down upon (such as Barney), but they fail to see the fact that its not aimed at them but a younger audience.
