Hey,

Best storyline huh...well the one I appreciate the most would probably be Boogiepop Phantom. Its pretty neat how they set the first part up like the X-Files and you're like, WTF is going on? Then when you watch the last two disks you're like, ohhhh I get it, because everything just come together so well.

I was partial to Magic Knights Rayearth. But I really loved Lodoss Wars to
(with Chronicles) So hard to decide
Roll the dice, test your fate
Gambling is a fine way to pass the time
The same is true of life and love
In the end, do we really know what we have Or do we only notice after we loose

Most know what I like - YYH. Almost every single character in that anime has a history - even the most minor ones. And since I'm a character-whore (as a writer I'm more for characters than quick paced action or sappy romance), that appeals to me. The storyline is more a story of the characters and how they relate to each other, the trials they go through, and how those things make them different - and it is all characters, not just the main ones. To me, that's like a saga, and even if you like someone who only plays a minor part, you still get to see that character explored somewhere in the anime. Then again, I loved Stephen King's 'The Stand' - uncut despite the complaints of how long it was an all the focus on seemingly minor characters. ^_^

Best storyline- RahXephon. It flows very well. The story is very interesting, told well. The mysteries are slowly peeled away. The character development is unparalleled, even for minor characters.

Cowboy Bebop is great, too, but it's main story is told in just 5 episodes. (5,12,13,25,26) Otherwise it is quite episodic. You get little bits and pieces that contribute to the main story of Bebop as you watch, but its pretty much all there in 5 episodes. I loved Cowboy Bebop, but for storyline I prefer when the episodes flow together and tell one story.

Any storyline that has a multiple layered story I just love. I also agree with Arigatomyna that there has to be some decent characterisation devoted to every character not just the main ones. So some plotlines I loved...
RahXephon
Argento Soma
.hack//sign
Record of the Lodoss War
Vision of Escaflowne
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Cowboy Bebop (episodic yes but the main storyline is just superb)
Outlaw Star
Trigun
Fruits Basket
X TV
Srcyed

Hmmmm... this reads like my list of favourite anime. I suppose that means storylines are important to me.
