fandubbing

I showed a friend of mine a copy of an Utena fandub parody I was able to download, and she was much amused. So much amused that she decided that she wanted top make one. Only, I was going to make one, because she doesn't know how to edit or organize. So anyway, this chick is draging me around by my ear, and she wants me to make a fandub with all of our friends.
Ok, fine, I'm making a fandub.
Questions:
These seem to be getting more and more popular, is there a website or webring for groups that do parody fandubs that will give me assistance? Are there any warnings those who have already done these might have for a poor soul such as me. How many people really are making these... I mean, it's not as popular as AMV creation, is it? o.O

I'm making a fandub too...
But I can't find enough girls to play the parts :\

I was planning to just lay out the voices and all in premire, along with the background music. As far as sound effects go, just planning to reproduce them as best as possible, or rip them from the episode when its possible.

Things I've picked up from helping out with "Otakudom" and working on the new parody with Scott:

- have lots of friends... lots.
- don't be afraid to have people re-do lines... be mean to them, and tell them to do it over!
- buy a decent mic... and a mixer...
- find even MORE friends
- write a script

And more... lots more... can't think properly...

Last I checked, fandubbing was like 50 girls to each guy. Holy crap.
