Gundam 0080:
The character Dick Lumumba (who, for the record bears a kind of creepy resemblance to Nelson Mandela) is in a wheelchair

Gundam 0083:
Zeon pilot Kelly Lazner is missing an arm

Also, (while it's debatable if you would count this) there's always Captain Harlock's missing an eye

Grove (if that's how you spell it) of the Marcus Brothers is in pretty bad shape if you ask me.

Carmilla...well she's dead!!

THere are plenty of others i just can't seem to think of them right now...

Get back to ya..

There's a wheelchair kid in Doozy Bots who turns into a Guntank.

And there's a wheelchair-bound girl in the American live action/animated version of Sailor Moon.

The psychic sisters who eventually transform into Genocyber are handicapped because they were supposed to be born as one person, but were manipulated into two individuals. Diana is pretty much a head placed on an artifical cyber-body, and Elaine is seemingly mentally retarded. Diana was originally supposed to be Elaine's reason and thought process, which is why they ended up being like that when separated from each other.

In the final episode of Genocyber also, the main female character is blind. The final episode is centered upon what happens when she and her husband go to a seemingly wealthy colony to get an operation to restore vision to her.

In GetBackers...

*spoilers alert*

....hudo takuma, who was mido ban's ex-partner from his Plunderer days. Somehow he lost his left hand to ban, and it wriggles crazily at the prospect of killing ban. If that wasn't enough, he also has an eyepatch over his right eye. Although it is unknown if it is because of a disability or he just does it to psych people out. He seems to like the look though. Must be masochistic or something...

Just remembered another one:

Masaru in Akira had to use the floating wheelchair to get around (well, when he wasn't hovering on his own)
