The word for Julius from Cowboy Bebop is hermaphrodite. Though he wasn't born that way. His case was a side effect of a drug tested on prisoners. Since minor characters in Bebop represent in some way the main characters I kind of wondered if Julius represented Vicious, Spike, or Julia.

Anyway to the topic.

First I have to ask the gender of Youkai_Lady. My guess was female, but ya never know. It might help in understanding the direction of the question.

As a straight guy I tend to see an anime guy with the thought of, "I wish/should be more like that."

I have never had the seemingly common problem of telling the sex of an anime character, though. The way to draw them is so similar I could see how it is possible, but never had it happen.

Yuki and Shuichi from Gravitation are gay.
The bad guy (Murasaki? I forget) from YnM is gay. The rest are questionable, which is what makes the show fun.

Also, there are all the specifically gay animes (Lesson XX, Zetsuai, Fake, etc.) with gay characters.
There aren't too many in the mainstream as homosexuality in Japan is viewed even more negatively than in North America.
If nothing else, harsh noises get your attention.

Well Cloud clone, just in case you forgot what the name of the man-planet was, it was Callisto, the moon furthest from Jupiter to be colonized on the show. I used to think it was Ganemyde.

I don't think Gren was a fag either. I don't think any woman would do-it with a man with woman body parts anyway LOL!

Um...I'm pretty sure Gren wasn't a hemaphrodite, he just had breasts...which didn't make a whole lot of sense, cause really, why wouldn't he just have them removed....*shrugs*...

Also, I don't see how anyone can mistake anime guys for gals, I mean, no offense, but usually the breasts are the first give away... o_O

hmm. I did. It was in a manga though. I was looking through Angel Santuary and I thought Rosiel was a girl. Gender confusion is often made when a guy has long hair and emphasized eyelashes.

Well I wouldn't say I've ever considered one hot but I've definately had my share of fangurl bishoneness...which usually has me reading a manga and going "AWWWWWWW~!!!! or THAT'S SO CUUUUUTE!" as certain people will have witnessed ^^;;....
