Yay! Respect! And how could you even think that you're insane?! Any person who sincerely enjoys this show should not even be considered close to insanity! Getter Robo is quite simply the best giant robot anime ever created, hands down. If you have yet to see this fantastic anime, you should try to see it, no matter what the cost may be!Heero_Yuy84 wrote:You sir, have just gained my respect! (I'm not the only one! I'm not insane!!!)

Hmm . . . well, crap. I've unfortunately haven't gotten around to seeing Giant Robo, so I really can't tell you what the differences are. I can however, tell you what Getter Robo has in it. Such as, Getter Robo has 3 seperate smaller robots that combine, and depending on which combination they form in, a different robot with different abilities is created. There are aliens in getter robo. Getter Robo pulls out obscenely large melee weapons out of nowhere. The voices scream alot in getter robo (and I mean alot. One of the voice actor's throat began bleeding from the amount of fervored shouting). In the beginning of Getter Robo (at least the one on DVD. I havne't seen the original show) the world as we know it is destroyed (third episode I believe). Also, the show is decently violent (good amounts of gore from aliens being sliced into pieces, etc.) Umm . . . well . . . if you've seen giant robo that might help you compare differences . . . maybe . . .J-0080 wrote:Could someone please tell me, what is the difference between Getter Robo and Giant Robo?

...actually, since it is a short series as well:
Tsunami: If you can, try and find Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo (it got fansubbed last year, so that should make it easy)
They use the timeline from the original series (Armageddon was an AU) so in the beginning you basically see a remake of the original series finale

I saw Mobile Suit Gundam: 0080 mentioned. That is probably my favorite show. Moving. Also check out MSG: 08th MS Team (13(?) eps). You can't forget Akira, Zone of the Enders, and Ghost in the Shell (all movies). And Full Metal Panic (26 eps) rocks to no end. Lastly is Blue Submarine No. 6. (a cg/anime of 4 eps)
