Maaya Sakamoto owns, lol. She's good at singing and voice acting. But i find the esca dub to be fine, along with many others. Anything with dave lucas doing the dub i refuse to watch subbed, other then that it differs. I actually thought the Eva dub was fine, Asuka never annoyed me at all, and shinji had a gay voice for his personality so it worked out. Whatever though, i dont prefer one to the other.Propyro wrote:
Esca - dwchang ahtes this one, he sees it as being very bland and unemotional ... i think he likes the series *too* much. i thought the dub was acceptable, but i still would rather watch the sub.

Personally, I liked Shinji's voice... only problem with Asuka was that she sounded too much like a 20-to-30-year-old instead of a 15-year-old... as far as I can remember, only voice I didn't like in the Eva dub was Touji. Okay, and Kaoru too, to some extent. The mouth-movement-matching (what's the technical term? I wanted to say ADR but I wasn't sure) could have been better, but I thought the scripting was good (except for Kaoru).Propyro wrote:i didn't like the eva dub, the general opinion is that it's horrible. Most people hate Shinji's voice, but i think just about evry one elses voice is worse ... except rei ... she dosn't talk much so it's not that bad.
But then, I haven't seen the whole series dubbed.

Let's put it this way. The voice actress for Asuka DID work hard on putting some of the German accent and lingo into play. I thought it's pretty good.Scintilla wrote:Personally, I liked Shinji's voice... only problem with Asuka was that she sounded too much like a 20-to-30-year-old instead of a 15-year-old... as far as I can remember, only voice I didn't like in the Eva dub was Touji. That does not suprise me. The only problem with it is then people will think that it was ogrinal made in Japanese when it wasnt.Pie Row Maniac wrote:Last I heard, they're making a special edition DVD with a Japanese dub as well as the original English dub.angelx03 wrote:I think Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust has the only English dub track.
I was just pointing out that the orgain script was writen and was soposed to be in engish.
It was dub in to japanese from engish because it would be easier for native japanise speakers to watch it (much like stuff is dub into engish for us)
Just remeber on vimpired D it is soposed to be watch in enighs not Japanenes (It is one of the few out there

ones ive liked,
Blue sub 6
fist of the north star the movie was not too bad
wicked city
anything dubbed from miyazaki has been good
monokehime
castle in the sky
kiki's delivery service
green legend ran
theres alot more but i cant think right now. For whatever reason, maybe cuz its how i started watching anime, but i find that older anime dubbed during the late 80's had much better voice acting than the crap dubs that come out now, especially the ones that make it to tv, Kenshin comes to mind crap crap crap.
