Actually, I enjoyed FFVIII...

Liked it more than IX anyway...

but FF VII was just one of the best games I ever played

VIII was not nearly as good in comparison... but VIII started well and ended well... but it kinda meandered in the middle... and most people I talk to never got past the middle.

Of course... this is getting off topic... but I figured I'd make my comment.

As for FF8, my view is that it should not be approached as a game, but as an interactive novel. The gameplay is way to easy for it to be challenging for any length of time (Junction system = highly unbalanced and uber-easy to manipulate.). So, as a game, I did not like it much. But, as an interactive love story, I enjoyed it.

FF9 knocked my boxers off and threw them across the room. That's all I have to say about that.

I never even understood the Junction system... and I wasn't interested enough to learn. I just auto assigned crap as I found it.

And the idea of making the battle go longer so you could spend 20 rounds of just drawing was so boring...

Hopwever... in VII, when I fought Sephiroth... that was very hard. My characters were between levels 50 and 62 and I didn't have some of those super powerful summons (like Knights of the Round Table) and it took me 10 tries before I finally beat Sephiroth... and I felt great when I did it... and the end movie just "got me"

In VIII, the boss was sooo tough that I went out to find the parts to make my best weapons for my top 3 characters. By the time I found the last piece, my top 3 characters were all 99th level and had the 9999 HP. I finally was able to beat the final boss with my best weapons (and some of the nifty items I had found by that point) and when I finally won, I got to watch that GREAT ending... really made up for the hell I had to go through to win.

In IX... I got to the end without realizing I got there. I thought I was just in ANOTHER battle with Kuja. Then some thing showed up and said I had to fight it. I don't know what it was... but I fought it and beat it (no real effort even) and next thing I know... the game is over. I wanted to scream... I really didn't like IX at all. I only had like 3 of the summons... and I never used any of them anyway. I felt so ripped off.

Haven't played X yet...
