You know I'm rather disappointed in the fact that there was no girl with a broken mind. There are people out there with a mental disability that was not present at birth. Hinako is a close match but she's not really mentally broken, just de-socialized.
When a very young kid bears witness to some over-the-top travesty/tragedy. It can scar them mentally and completely shatter their mind until someone comes along the way and puts them back together again usually through shear kindness and perseverance.
The traits of the mentally broken are usually placid eyes that remain completely dilated and seem to see right through you at all times. They hardly change the way they are facing other then right infront of them (they never turn their head to face people). They practically never speak and just seem to do what they have to do or whatever they are told without a care and even when they do speak its with as few words as possible or just simply a yes or no. They have no facial expressions, no sense of self or personality, no particular interests in anything. They just continue living out of fear of dying usually cause of the agony of the people from the travesty/tragedy they witnessed.
I think I would of ended up choosing a girl like this if one had been implemented. That isn't to say I like playing the hero, but more along the lines of being one of those people that just can't stand seeing someone like this and wants to do whatever they can to help. I probably would of fallen for this individual over Lilly if this were the case.
A disability doesn't have to be life long. People can overcome them with the help of others sometimes usually through force of will. It would of been an interesting aspect to the game at the very least.
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson
