not really, he turns into a cat, like he doesn't spend his entire life in mid-cat-hell where he has the cat-ears and that stupid marketable cuteness

There are a few of them in Kasho no Tsuki - but they're cat people, not really crosses - they actually shift into full fledged cats (big ones >.>).

One of the main two characters in the anime is a neko boy (though it may not count since he's technically sexless - he hasn't chosen a permanent gender yet...)

a sexless neko that shifts into a cat. don't think that counts, but does he/she/it-chan have the cat ears?

that's more or less what i'm basing the criteria on, the boy has the frickin cat ears, you get bonus points if he is
1) cute
2) equpiied with a tail
3) an idiot or a wise-ass that acknowledges his catboyness

that's my criteria for now, but the furry ears are first an foremost.

I wish I had a scanner, I'd scan some of Hellsing.

One of the characters is cat boy.

His name is Schroedinger (ha ha get it?).

And he's kinda a wise-ass. There's a funny scene when the Major finds him napping on his command chair....

he also appears to have regenerative powers or a twin brother as there's a scene when Alucard blows his head off. (Gun in mouth *BAM*) But he shows up on the Major's chair in the next chapter....

Beat me to it. Going slightly off topic, you want to know what's just as rare? Dog girls. The only one I can think of is the were-wolf woman from .hack/Legend of the Twilight Bracelet.
