Some anime is really made by the fanservice. Colorful even says on the box, this show is about panties, but that actually makes the humor, guys getting bent out of shape over a little flash of undies.

In some, the fanservice just fits with the action, Project A-ko comes to mind, all that fighting in school skirts makes it unavoidable.

I haven't seen the ones you say are ruined by it and I probably won't on your advice, but I'm sure they can overdo it and I'm also sure there are those who buy it just for that fact.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

I didn't say they were ruined by it, just didn't explore the story enough. In fact, I think many people have ignored these shows becuase they thought they were only pointless wastes of time. Now, your opinion may differ from mine, but you should at least give these shows a chance.

Basically, I think the writers did think it would do good, so they stuck fanservice in. I don't object, I just wish they'd do more, to explore the possibilities they set up, ready to go, but never did it.

Of the three, Cosplay Complex was teh most fanservice dependant. Without it, there wouldn't be much to the show. Not that that's bad, the show is still funny, it's just ti doesn't have much to support itself.

Now, Jungle de Ikou was different. It had an interesting story, wacky, fun characters, and some laugh out loud funny gags. I would recomend this title, just be a little open about it. It's sad that it ended the way it did, cause I could really see this turn into a funny TV series, and in today's anime market, I don't see why not. Also, in case you don't know, Megumi Hayashibara does the voice of Ongo. I'm sure most people are already familiar with her as being the VA for female Ranma, Lina Inverse of Slayers, and Megu of Tenshi Na Konamaiki.

Finally, Amazing Nurse Nanako was a bit of a paradox. On one side, yes it was a bunch of bouncing boobs and panty shots, but on the other it was an interesting, thought provoking sometimes sad story. Some people already criticized me for expecting so much from a so called "fan-service show", but I wasn't expecting that. What I really was expecting (yes I admit) was a funny, fan service show. And well, that was half true, but like I said there's also a bit deeper side, something many people weren't expecting so they simply ignored it. I don't think Nanako would fair well as a tv series, but I would like to see at least another season to better help wrap things up.

I almost stopped watching Texchnolyze due to the sex scene and Doc's dislike for clothes.
Well, being an older anime audience, they had no reason to cut out that first scene, besides it's in the plot.
As for Doc, we can argue about that. But those girls do exist (I know one) and they don't need to be sluts to like that. Besides: Home Alone. ;)
Texhnolyze has no fanservice. >>
But we can argue about Doc.

Real Bout High School was quite boring with all it's fanservice, but it didn't kill the show.
The lack of everything else did. O_O
I kept on watching it anyway. And I want to read the manga, they say it's better and I somehow believe them.
'Was funny though.

Suppose you're right about the opening scene. But, my opinion still remains the same on Doc.
One of the main themes of the series is to show how primal people can be.

My friend said at the end "That's it?". Adding in 2-3 more episodes to conclude things better would have been good.

Jungle de Ikou was good enough they could actually turn it into a TV series. There's enough potential for that, and it was a good series as is, didn't even end too abruptly. While it has less fanservice than some others, I think they almost went more of the insanity of the fanservice than quantity.

Yeah jungle de Ikou is funny and the fan service is a huge part of it. It's perfect the way it is and I wouldn't want to see a tv series of it.
