Sounds to me like someone may be looking for "facts" to support a claim that anime is Satanic, or at least anti-Christian. I imagine that if that is what you're trying to do, you will end up having to invent most of it, so why not do that right now and save yourself the trouble of trying and failing to find real facts? The thing is, very few anime discuss pantheons of named gods because very few anime discuss religion at all, and pantheons of named gods aren't a big part of Shinto, Buddhism, nor Christianity as practised in Japan. Maybe the "gods" in Spirited Away are something like what you're looking for, but very few of them have specific names mentioned.The_Collection wrote:im trying to make a libery of anime facts and i need some help. if you can tell me the name of some "gods" talked about in anime that will help me out a lot. like in slayers or bastard or any at all. whatever stuff you can tell me.
He has a point, he does. You've got things ranging from Shaman King's "Great Spirits" to Excel Saga's "Divine Will of the Macrocasm" and there's no similarity whatsoever. These are fantasy worlds. Each writer is going to come up with a different deity.koronoru wrote:there are no "anime gods" generic to all anime.
Maybe the closest thing to what the original poster wanted would be Urd, Skuld, and Belldandy, from Oh! My Godess{/i] - their names are based on those of some Norse goddesses. I'm not sure that much or any of their appearance or characterization matches the original legends.Trident wrote:With that said: other gods within anime are Kami from the Dragon Ball shows (though the dragons themselves are more
the deities), the aforementioned spirits in Shaman King, and pretty much any spirit in Inu Yasha.
