Subs are by nature have more accurate translations since they don't have to match the mouth movements. So "beter" probably isn't the best term.thewhacker wrote:I hear sub is better than dub because in dub they change some words that may affect the storyline. And they sell dub and sub dvd's.
Some people are purests and want more accurate translations (Subs). Some people don't want to read text on their screens and don't mind a (usually, but not always) slight loss in the translation.
With subs you also hear the original voices with the inflections that the director wanted. Both are good. Each is just directed at a different audience.

Mask of Destiny wrote:Your argument doesn't make any sense. You recognize that there is a significant demand for subs. Then you go on to imply that the importers receive most of their revenue through dubs, but you don't supply any information supporting that claim. This is True they are releasing the sailors subbed bt that was from Humungo demand...just like they released Sakura dairies subbed on dvd....But a handfull of dvd's dont stop an entire Corporation funded on dubbed material
Only watching subs does not hurt the market. You're still buying the anime (well we'll assume you're actually buying the anime) so it has no effect on overall sales.
It started when UncleMilo took offense to you sayingAnd I got a question!?How did this turn into a Sub/Dub war..............Dude you subbers need to walk outside......So Petro, what is your role in this fansubbing group? Are you a translator, timer ...?Then again, I'm in a fansubbing group, so I'm probably a little partial
I wasnt placing a fucking arguement....When did this sub/Dub war start....

It's no war. We're just comparing and contrasting ^_^ Notice the complete lack of "OMFG! You're a DUBBER! Yuo SUX0r! lololo!!!111" and "You're a SUBBER? You stupid otaku!" (well, there was ONE occasion of that, but that was in the begining of the thread by a stupid troll)leathelanime wrote:I wasnt placing a fucking arguement....When did this sub/Dub war start....

whoa!!! i didn't mean to start a war
the only reason i stated this is that i never saw the dubbed version of trigun i bought the subtitled version before i knew of the english version.....the only reason that i would consider getting the 3/\/gl!sh version is for the easier creation of amvs........

wolfwood scenes are hard to get without the subs in, cause you have to edit over 'em
