I have to agree with the beserk one.. that's got plenty of good sword fights...

Devil Hunter Yohko, Magic Knights Rayearth, .hack//SIGN although they tend to be somewhat few, Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of Heroic Knight, Legend of Crystania, Ronin Warriors, Ninja Cadets!, Jubei-chan, Slayers (Any of the series), Star Ocean Ex, Tales of Eternia, Arc the Lad, Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, MAZE: Megaburst Space, Melty Lancer, Mahou Senshi Rui (I saw a domestic trailer for this recently, the English name escapes me at the moment) Lord of Lords Ryu Knight: Adeu's legend (I threw one in that the recent fansub community might recognize since I noticed some titles other people listed that are available via fansubs), the list goes on and on and on... There are just too many anime with sword-fighting of various different styles in them to list in a single post. However, let me help your choice a little by directing you to an AMV that I think depicts some anime with nice main characters that are primarily swordfighters:

Read or Die has a KICKASS swordfight in it.

As for X, I hope you're talking about the TV series and not the movie. The movie's "sword fight" was a piece of pathetic, anticlimactic crap.

Heroic Legend of Arislan has some good sword fighting.

And you can't have a list of sword fighting animes without Utena. It may be shoujo, but it's actually GOOD shoujo. DARK shoujo, even. Akio.......must........die! And take his bitch (Touga) with him!
