C'mon, lets take the click outta clicky!
ok, i posted this not to long ago out of frustration of being attacked many a times..
"ok not to be mean or anything, but just because we have had a lot of threads about something does that mean there cant be anymore? I guess i feel personally attacked at everything i post here because its "been" or its not "good enough." i mean if people want to post something cause their curiosity gets the best of em, who cares! dont bash them for doing what they want its a friggen forum... its not like it has to be done a certain way.. theres no laws. plus if there has been a lot of threads about something than who cares, you dont have to post a reply, heck you dont even have to read it! no ones forcing you to! I guess im just getting sick of being attacked for stupid things like this and had to say something. I cant be on all the time so i tend to miss a lot of things and im not going to waste time and sort through thousands of pages to find what i want to know or just curious about."
I guess all im trying to say is that if people keep attacking people its going to discourage new users from joining. Being a new user myself, I dont know when things have been talked about a lot and which ones havent. (Im getting tired of being attacked every single time because i didnt do something right! i didnt know there were set rules you had to follow to be a member). And i know from my experience im not going to sift through tons of pages to find something i want. therefore, if it has been heavily talked about and you know where it can be found let them know instead of biting their heads off! I think people need to be more careful about jumping on people about stupid things like that. Its discouraging new people from joining, and if that is the intent than it should not be an open forum, since an open forum is supposed to encourage open discussion and not just for elite members. Unfortunately, thats prolly a down side about a open forum for people who have been members for a long time is that new people are going to join and they dont know where this information can be found so there is going to be a lot of the same threads. Instead of attacking them and making em feel like crap just tell em where it can be found or you dont have to say anything at all! its not like you have to read it and reply! If you discourage new users from joining then your discouraging new ideas that could be brought into discussions instead of thoughts from the same people over and over again. Im on a couple different forums plus some from the past and ive never seen one as clicky and rude as some things i have seen going on here. dont be haters! cmon people lets take the click outta clicky!
thats all i gots to say on this matter. (steps down from soap box)... feel free to hate me now ^_^

Don't take things too extremely. Of course it's just a forum. Of course there's going to be disagreement, debate, elitism, etc.
And, as paizuri or another admin would say - if you feel someone is being aggressive and inflammatory - ignore them.
Don't feel attacked. If they respond unreasonably and aggressively to a reasonable argument, it doesn't mean they suddenly get the 'upper hand' or something.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Of course they would suggest that which would mean less work for them.Otohiko wrote: And, as paizuri or another admin would say - if you feel someone is being aggressive and inflammatory - ignore them.

All good statements. The majority of the people who are argumentative here tend to argue with everyone, you are (most likely) not being singled out.Otohiko wrote:Don't take things too extremely. Of course it's just a forum. Of course there's going to be disagreement, debate, elitism, etc.

Actually, I'd encourage them to report them first and THEN ignore them.Otohiko wrote:And, as paizuri or another admin would say - if you feel someone is being aggressive and inflammatory - ignore them.
But if you are too lazy to read a few posts or use the search function to find them, then be prepared to be called out on duplicate posts. Respect goes both ways and for as many lazy people like you that there are, there are just as many enthusiastic people who are prepared to jump down your throat at a moment's notice. For as many people who will enjoy the posts that you make, there may be just as many who won't. And some of these may even take the time to respond to you. Don't judge the entire forum because of a few vocal individuals. The worst ones get taken out eventually.
Also, there ARE laws here. But perhaps there should also be basic etiquette rules.
So don't get discouraged and enjoy your stay here. Or don't, and never come back.

No one hates you. Everyone gets their share of poo. It rolls down hill and the newer members seem to like collecting it. Just think of it as a screening method. Stick in there! You'll be one of the ones throwing poo instead of catching it in to time ^^Nienna Elentari wrote:... feel free to hate me now ^_^
