NOBODY I know in the ENGLISH language calls me "Joseph-sensei" or "Joseph-sama"

Kaoru-sama and Aoi-chan spoken in English dialect is just WRONG...

Miss Aoi, Master/Mister Kaoru, Mister Hanabishi, Miss Miyabi...

THOSE are correct translations...
Seriously?! Are you being sarcastic or are you serious? I've always thought this, and I've always gotten smacked down by people screaming that there is no translation of "-san" and "-sama." (Which of course is BS, but you know, everything in Japanese is holy and mighty etc. and no word in lowly English could eeeever compare  )

...aaaaanyway, if you really mean that, excellent. I'm not the only one who thinks that. 8)

IMO, "-chan" in particular sounds weird in English. (Worst of all in the YnM dub, when the little girl pronounces it with an English short "a" and not as it's pronounced in Japanese. Arg.) And honestly, there are equivalents in English whether they want to realize it or not. F'rexample, a friend of mine goes by Rob to his friends, but his parents call him Bobby. Normal form, familiar/childhood form. Sounds like "-chan" to me.

But then, I speak the unholy language of the great Western devil, so what do I know.

Oky, person with GTO avatar who's name escapes me, you do realize that Wendee Lee and David Lucas don't actually work for Tokyopop right? They work for a seperate dubbing company(who's name also escapes me), and usually work with Bandai more then anyone else. As for ADV, I happen to think that the company that does their dub work does a great job on most of their stuff, Excel Saga included. Jason Douglas, Brett Weaver, Paul Sidello, Hillary Haug, all true masters of the dub. I would say I was a dub whore, but frankly I don't see why perferring to watch something in the language I was brought up with is a "whorish" thing. Oh, and while I'm throwing around voice actors, I can't finish off this post without saluting Crispin Freeman for being one of the best voice actors the US has ever seen. Any man who can do Captain Tylor's voice, and then do Alucard's, is worthy of respect.
Kawaita hitomi de dareka na itekure -The Real Folk Blues, Yoko Kanno
I like it! -Indiscipline, King Crimson
If you wanna touch the sky, you must be prepared to die, and I hate cough syrup don't you? -Cough Syrup, Butthole Surfers
