G Gundam Query

I've only been watching this in bits and pieces on CN, and I'm curious. Is this show basically where they ripped the idea for Zoids from? People piloting robots and having battles with them and all?

Maybe I'm just not seeing the right episodes, but this show isn't making too big of an impression on me...

To start with: No, it's not likely they ripped the concept for Zoids Zero (the show with the competing mechs, Zoids Chaotic Century and Guardian Force both tended to be more towards war stories) from G Gundam.

For the record, the concept of the competing mecha is likely not limited to those two shows, and probably has been done in others.

Plus, as you watch more, the differences become more apparent...Zoids Zero focuses more on the fighting challenges, G Gundam becomes less focused on the Gundam fight, more on Domon's search for the Devil (or Dark as the dubs call it) Gundam.

As for the Shining Finger...well, Shining Hand just doesn't sound as good when you think about it....
