Hehe, nice to see all that information from people: this thread is awesome!
Well, you can learn how not to apply certain techniques in (A)MVs. Just watch it and you learn while watching!
But maybe some random things about the video:
- The quality of the video is very nice because most Japanese R2 DVDs consists of only 2 episodes per disc (sometimes even one). So get Japanese R2s for your AMV if possible!
- The humour of the video is heavily influenced by A Total Waste of 6 Minutes and 35 Seconds. I really wanted to do the humour with a straight face, and most importantly try to create humour from scratch (and more relying on editing tricks) instead of relying on the sources. Eventually the source was funny and it helped a lot for the humour (so I'm not really proud on that), but it really made me realize how hard it must've been to make A Total Waste of 6 Minutes and 35 Seconds (and how brilliant it actually is).
- Creating the comic scene at the end would result to to a crash in Premiere. So when you use AVS and put 10 video segments into a frame at the same time, make sure you set MemoryMax to something low (like 8MB). It'll go way slower when rendering, but at least Premiere doesn't crash!
Okay, I can't think of more stuff... hope you found it useful!

I don't know if what I'll write here are considered lessons,so judge them and act accordingly.Should you consider them useful, then op the vid.If not, sorry for your time.
- Never ever begin an amv with a story by only having in mind 1 or 2 scenes of the vid.Out of the whole vid,the only part of which I was sure from the beginning what scenes to use was the part:
"It's Friday night and she's all alone,
He's a million miles away."
The rest of the vid was decided upon editing and it really broke my nerves since I didn't want just a comedy video but an alternate story of the anime plot.I thought of abandoning the project tons of times but thankfully I continued it.
- This is part of ayanefan's opinion to my amv and it shows that Hollywood techniques can be applied to amvs as well.

"I think you tried to use the 40-20-10-10-5-5-5-5 formula for your video.
40% comedy
20% action
10% drama
10% major violence
5% sex
5% oddities
5% nothingness / meaningless
5% filler
Pretty good use of the system, it's been used a bit by Hollywood and seems to work fine for some films"
- Never ever hurt a maiden's heart when you know she can kick your ass.A lesson from the FMP series in general but it may also apply in life(hope I never experience it though).

-Instumentals are fun! You can give it any story or concept you want. Or they can portray your footage any way you want without having to worry about matching lyrics.
-If you don't want to edit a 7 min song, or the song you have chosen is too slow and drags on, doubling the speed is always an option. *^_^*
-Never underestimate the Hello Kitty vid. It could be darker and more action packed than you would expect. And on that note, Hello Kitty Animation Theater is not your normal shining, happy, sweet, sterile Hello Kitty series.
-Giving a classical music instrumental the silent film look can give it character, class and a more artistic look. Unfortunately, not everyone gets all art or can stand it for long periods of time.

-Using classical music and/or Hello Kitty can help your Originality scores but hurt your Review scores.
-Apparently, Premiere Pro doesn't have an old film grain effect. Photoshop layers are your friend more or less anytime Premiere doesn't have an effect an you don't have After Effects.

ill be brief
-usage of some cool AE effects such as particular(using particle systems).
-Implementing some 3d scenes and combining the anime source with this cg scenes.
-getting the taste of a great musical genre such as progressive trance.
-combining live action and anime(not a new practice but still cool to watch imo)
-simplistic video.
