How do you know these bands and get this info about them??? Do you work for a record label or do you just have some kind of connections to them???

I don't know if you get it, but on a forum...anyone knows ANYTHING about ANY band.

Going to tons of shows and checking out band websites (and probably the best new-school punk site, www.absolutepunk.net) is always the best way to learn about and check out new bands :D.

Re: To Jace Tsunami
I know a lot of these bands personaly. I went to the same highschool as the RX Bandits, I've met pretty much everyone under drive-thru. But yeah like veteoEx said, if you go to shows it's really easy to make friends with the bands. I go see a lot of bands while they're still small, and at small shows bands tend to walk around when their done playing and the next band comes on. I know Blink-182 because of this, but I wasn't actualy the one that's been seeing them for years, i met them through a friend that knows them, of a friend that knwos them. This guy when he was our age did what I do, and he took my friend with him, so they've known my friend since he was just a kid, and my friend took me with him,and we went backstage and shit. So that's how i met blink. I met Good Charlotte and New Found Glory though myself when they were small. I probably talked to them the most at warped tour, warped tour is a fucking AWSOME place to get to know bands. That's everyone I know that's popular, but I know The starting Line, rufio, Taking back Sunday, and Finch really well, probably group I know best of the bands I'm aquainted with. we're getting to know the Riddlin Kids pretty well, we're going to do some promos for them and pass shit out for thier show next month.RobLoge85 wrote:How do you know these bands and get this info about them??? but really yeah, just go to shows and don't be afraid to talk to people.

LOL! I don't think I've ever heard 311 compared to a ska band before. They have a slight reggae/ska sound in some of their songs, but not 3rd wave.Jace Tsunami wrote:yeah, the RX Bandits are quite awsome. They captured a sort of perfect essence of Seal beach in all theire music. They remind me of 311, but not as clean. Like 30 times more punk, and 10 times more ska. It's realyl cool though, when ever I hear their music I think home, i love that.

yeah, i'm not calling them ska. They're far from it. But when I listent o either bands they do remind me of each other. If you've heared a fair list of songs from both bands I think you'd know what I mean. Rx bandits are more punk as well, so it's that hint of ska they have, and their some what familer feeling to 311.
