Hah. Someone else knows who they are? :P
Senses Fail is from around here, actually... little bit north-er, but close enough. They played at Rutgers a few weeks back, and just recently got signed to Drive-Thru Records. DEFINITELY check out their music.. grand stuff.
They're doing a couple dates with Finch on their tour starting next month, I believe. I know they're playing Birch Hill here in Jersey but I just read that they're doing some west coast dates, as well.
They're gonna be huge.

They were underground so maybe not too many people have heard of them yet. They're a great band and hopefully they won't become too commercial. One thing I hate is when great bands turn too commercial and start changing their style like other bands and rappers do (ie Ja Rule, Jay Z, 50 Cent, Nas, just to name a few rappers, Sum 41 is too pop me now, Blink 182 SUCKS, New Found Glory, Linkin Park got me to the point where I'm sick of hearing them, I used to like them until their songs got played out.)
Bands and rappers that I do listen to now consist of Senses Fail, Finch, TRUSTcompany(I like them, don't know about everyone else though), CKY, System of A Down, Obie Trice, DMX, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Kool G Rap, Mobb Deep, Eminem(his stuff gets really played out yet its good the first couple of times you hear it)
This whole thing happens with everything, it changes as it gets more popular. Squaresoft does this with Final Fantasy, sure they're good RPGs but it got rediculous with FF X, they just focused on graphics more than anything else, the story was alright I guess, Tidus, the main character was a whiny prick as the other characters weren't very likeable to me. The Sphere Grid is the dumbest leveling up idea since all your characters eventually become the same wheres the fun in that??? Squaresoft is too mainstream for a video game company its not even funny, hope no other RPG companies follow in their tracks.
I know I dragged the topic on too far but whether it comes to music or video games, it all gets to the point where they change everything yet you like the older music or games better. I bet there are a lot of Squaresoft fanboys around here that wanna flame me really bad.. go ahead I'm ready for it.

Open your mind before you open your mouth, because you might be the one selling out :).Bigwig / 'Sellout' wrote: Now the band has made some money,
You're the one that bought the CD.
You told all your friends they were cool,
Seems to me that you're the fool.
So before you open your mouth
And you say a band has sold out...
Do you know what they've been through,
Know what they've gone through...
To play in front of you?
Now who's the sellout?

Actually I don't have their cd. My friend told me about the band so I listened to them and liked them. I just stated my opinion about them and spoke about things that are too popular and overrated in my opinion. And after hearing some of the same songs over and over again... don't you get sick of them eventually??? I sure do but I can't speak for everyone else. I hate things that get too popular, you hear about it so much and then lose interest in whatever they're talking about after a while.

I do get kinda bummed when things (mostly bands) I like start to get really popular, but that's usually just deep down as an elitist fan hoping I can always "keep them to myself." I know that it's completely NOT under my control, so I just deal with it :D.
Honestly, if I *really* enjoy a band (as I do with Finch, Starting Line, Senses Fail, and a few others), I can't say I ever really get sick of hearing their songs. I always listen for and hear something new every time, whether it be off the album or, preferably, live.

Bands that break it though with blood, sweat, and tears and become popular by writing/releasing high quality material get my vote. I don't feel like searching for this bands Mp3s from mp3.com, it's a bitch, anyone have a direct link?
As far as 'selling out' - you can please some of the people, all of the time, or you can please all of the people for 10 minuites. Personally, I'd rather have longevity than 15 minuites of fame.
www.freternia.com
www.elvenking.com
Two bands that need to be recognised that dont get any attention

senses fail is awomse. I realize this thread is a couple days old, BUT IT DESERVES TO BE REVIVED!
You wanted a direct link? It's in the first post of this thread... Go listen to them.
They don't have any music for donwlaod on their site, so you'll have to go to mp3.com, and the link in the first post is THEIR mp3.com page. If you click the link in my sig to drive-thru records, as you enter the site, on of the flash intros is senses fail, you can hear them there. And drive-thru may just have a downlaod for them like "free falling with out a parachute" maybe.
hey VegetoEX, you know where you can get this cd? It's sold out everywhere, most places dn't even carrey them though... It's even sold out at their record label, the old one. If you have it, where'd you get it?

I picked up the EP when they played at Rutgers. Downloaded it all before then :P.
Drive-Thru is actually going to be re-releasing their EP with the six old songs and a brand new song (sometime in the coming months) before they head into the studio to do their full-length, so you should be able to pick it up real soon.
